STAGE 1 BUSINESS

Stage 1 Business covers multiple general business disciplines including Accounting, Business & Enterprise and Business Studies. Accounting 1 is an introduction to the recording and management of cash transactions in both manual and electronic formats within a business/office environment. The course also introduces the use of Mind Your Business (MYOB) and the use of business documents. The environment of accounting looks at business structures and the cause and effect of business collapses. Business and Enterprise 1 provides an introduction to the theory and practice of business management. STAGE 2 BUSINESS

Stage 1 Business covers multiple general business disciplines including Accounting, Business & Enterprise, Business Studies and Workplace Practices. Business Studies provides students with a broad overview of the business world incorporating economic, legal, financial, technological and social aspects. In particular it focuses on the ways in which these aspects impinge upon the lives of individuals as they interact with the business world. Small Business Enterprise is suitable for all students who want to acquire an understanding of the operation of a small business. Students who are interested in developing an understanding of the financial, legal, marketing and ethical background necessary for operating a small business and applying these skills in establishing and running their own small business enterprise will benefit from participating in this subject. Accounting is a valuable course for those interested in a career in accounting, finance and business/commerce or related fields. This includes: business owners (sole trader, partnership etc.), book keeping, office administration, accounts receivable/payable clerk and financial services. This course is also useful for students considering a career in government, such as treasury, business etc. This course covers financial and management accounting.
