Casuarina Senior College Health Sciences offers specialist learning in a range of advanced science and health science subjects leading to possible career pathways in medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacy, veterinary science and other allied health professions such as physiotherapy, radiography, occupational therapy, nutrition and dietetics, psychology and sports science.

The courses will provide opportunities for extension, enrichment and acceleration in learning.

• Extension or advanced learning challenges students by providing them with opportunities to work with more difficult concepts or ideas.
• Enrichment activities offer students unique learning opportunities to stimulate their thinking. Often it involves learning in different ways or in different settings and includes extra-curricular activities, for example, summer science schools, competitions, excursions, camps, etc.
• Acceleration in learning occurs when students have opportunities to undertake courses at a higher level than their age/grade cohort, for example, Year 10 students may have the opportunity to enrol in Stage 1 (Year 11) course(s) or university courses while still at school.
• Teachers will also provide innovative and personalised approaches to teaching and learning catering for individual student interests and abilities.
