Course Description

English as an Additional Language (EAL) is designed for students for whom English is an additional language or dialect.

EAL students have diverse experiences in English and one or more of a variety of other languages.

This diversity, along with the personal, educational and cultural backgrounds of students is acknowledged in the course design.

This course provides opportunities for students to develop their knowledge and skills of English through listening, viewing, speaking, reading and writing.

EAL also focuses on the cultural and situational contexts of language and learning.
