Course Description

In Fashion and Textile Design students work independently to produce textiles, accessories and garments, analytical writing and presentations in the form of an exhibition and a catwalk show, when possible.

Students experiment with the learnt skills and techniques from Stage 1 and also explore and create responses to the work of a variety of Fashion and Textile Designers through research, one on one interviews, workshops, and analytical writing.

Students develop their visual literacy, critical and creative thinking, as well as analytical writing skills.

In Fashion and Textile Design students learn to follow the design process, to work to a brief responding to design needs where possible and to use industry standard techniques to create a more sophisticated design and finished product(s).
