Course Overview

Biology is delivered over two semesters, with different content and is aimed at preparing students for further study in Biology at Stage 2.


Students investigate biological systems and their interactions, from the perspectives of cells, genetics and disease to biodiversity and ecosystem dynamics. These investigations allow students to extend the skills, knowledge, and understanding that enable them to explore and explain everyday observations, find solutions to biological issues and problems, and understand how biological science impacts on their lives, society, and the environment.


It is recommended that students successfully complete at least 1 semester of Stage 1 Biology before enrolling in Stage 2 Biology.
