Course Overview

Stage 1 Numeracy caters for students who do not wish to continue their studies of mathematics beyond the minimum requirement for NTCET completion.


This year 11 course allows students to develop their basic numeracy and then explore a range of contextualized mathematics, including budgeting, financial mathematics, measurement and geometry. The course follows the SACE Stage 1 Essential Mathematics Subject Outline.


All year 11 students must successfully complete one semester of mathematics. Enrolment in Second Semester is recommended for students who want to extend their understanding of everyday financial mathematics such as taxation, debt, loans and investment and budgeting.
