CSC Strengthens Its Position as the Top End’s Premier Senior College
Innovative Pathways Through the UniStart Program
Casuarina Senior College (CSC) is reaffirming its place as the Top End’s leading senior secondary school with the launch of UniStart, a new academic pathway developed in partnership with Charles Darwin University (CDU).
Beginning in 2026, UniStart will allow CSC students to complete up to two first-year university units while still at school, giving them a valuable head start toward higher education and future careers.

Focusing on Northern Territory Growth Areas
The program will launch with five units in health-related fields, addressing the Territory’s growing need for skilled professionals.
In the coming years, UniStart will expand to include
education and the arts, creating even more opportunities for students across diverse fields.
Preparing Students for the Future
Principal Glenn Dixon said the initiative highlights CSC’s commitment to opening doors for young Territorians.
"UniStart is about giving our students the best possible preparation for their futures. By partnering with CDU, we’re creating a unique pathway that allows students to graduate not only with their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET), but also with university-level learning already under their belt,"

Leading Academic Innovation in the Territory
CSC is currently the only senior secondary school in the Northern Territory to offer this initiative, cementing its reputation as a leader in educational innovation.
The collaboration with CDU aims to
build a stronger local workforce by encouraging young Territorians to pursue careers in specialised fields.
“By providing these pathways here in the Territory, we’re ensuring that the next generation of health professionals, teachers, and artists can come from our own community,”

Flexible Pathways for Every Student
UniStart is one of several pathways available at CSC, which will soon become the Territory’s only dedicated senior secondary school in the Top End.
The college offers a wide range of academic subjects alongside strong Vocational Education and Training (VET) options, allowing students to blend theory and practical experience.
This flexibility ensures every student can pursue a pathway that matches their goals — whether that’s
university study, employment, or further training.

A New Era for Senior Education
With its 2026 launch, UniStart is set to
redefine the senior school experience in the Northern Territory.
By bringing university and school closer together, CSC and CDU are ensuring Territory students have access to opportunities on par with their peers interstate — without leaving home.
As the only senior college in the Top End, CSC is positioning itself at the forefront of educational innovation —
equipping students to dream big, start strong, and stay local.
