Course Overview
Stage 1 Accounting teaches students language of business helping them understand and manage money, make smart decisions, and tell the financial story of a business. Career pathways include accounting, bookkeeping, business, finance, banking, data analysis and in any career involving money or decisionmaking.
Students will learn how to record and report financial transactions, create and interpret records, and explore how accounting information is used to make decisions. They will also develop understanding how technology is changing the accounting industry. Moreover, students will develop problem solving and critical thinkings and lean to communicate financial ideas clearly.
It is recommended that students successfully complete at least 1 semester of Stage 1 Accounting if they wish to enrol in Stage 2 Accounting in year 11 or 12.
