Accounting helps business owners to understand their business so that they can make informed decisions.

The practice of accounting is used to record, report, analyse and communicate past events, current activities, and potential challenges and opportunities.

Accounting covers:

  • The impact accounting has had on society
  • Opportunities that exist involving accounting in the future
  • Personal finance
  • Financial reports
  • Double-entry accounting
  • Accounting program such as MYOB
  • Budgets

Accounting helps students understand and manage their own finances; the financial management of businesses; understand and evaluate financial reports.
