Course Overview

Stage 1 Creative Arts is suited to students who have an interest in three-dimensional art and or pursuing a pathway involving the Arts - practical and theoretical. This pathway will help prepare students for careers and degrees in the Arts such as professional artist, sculptor or set designer.


Students undertaking Creative Arts develop a range of practical skills including soft sculpture, ceramics, painting, rendering and jewellery making. Areas of focus include conceptual and practical aspects of the arts. Students study a range of topics including past and present practitioners, their styles, techniques, methods and influences Students develop a range of transferable skills in the arts such as creative and critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.


It is recommended that students successfully complete at least 1 semester of Stage 1 Art if they wish to enroll in Stage 2 Arts.
