Course Overview
This subject is the second semester choice for the Essential English pathway. The pathway is designed for students who would like to keep their options open at the end of Year 12. This pathway is suitable for ATAR students who aspire to university study. Similarly, it is also a good option for students who are interested in defence and other services.
Students will learn how to critically analyse texts with a focus on the impact of language and literary techniques. They will also learn how ideas and themes move between texts as part of the intertextual study topic.
It is recommended that students successfully complete both semesters of English before moving into Stage 2 English in Year 12.
