Course Overview
Stage 1 Photography is a subject that caters to students who are interested in pursuing a pathway involving Photo Media Arts – Practical and theoretical. This pathway will help prepare students for tertiary education and career opportunities in Photo Media.
In Photography, students develop a range of practical skills including using camera functions practically and creatively, basic Photoshop/Raw editing skills and studio lighting. Areas of focus are understanding the camera, creative thinking process, and visual communication. By studying historical and contemporary photographers, investigating themes and genres, in both their Visual Study and Folio, students will develop deeper understanding of personal, local, global, social and political perspectives.
Students develop a range of transferable skills in the arts such as creative and critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
