Course Overview
Course Overview
Scientific Studies is a skills-based course designed to equip students with the fundamental skills necessary for pursuing further studies in a range of science subjects.
Innovative and critical thinking in the world of science underpins a cohesive understanding of the natural world and the discovery of new
ways of doing and thinking. Science is continually refining and expanding our knowledge of the universe and, as this happens, stimulating new questions for future investigation. Through a focus on science inquiry skills and scientific ways of observing, questioning, and thinking, students in Scientific Studies actively investigate and respond to authentic, engaging, and complex questions, problems, or challenges.
In addition, students will develop highly transferable skills such as problem-solving and critical thinking. It is recommended that students successfully complete Scientific Studies before undertaking further studies in science.
