Course Overview
Stage 2 IL Sport helps prepare students for future opportunities in sport, recreation, health, and community leadership. By taking part in a range of physical and group-based activities, students develop key life skills such as teamwork, communication, and responsibility—skills that are valuable for both further study and the workforce.
Students will build their understanding of sport and physical activity through hands-on experiences in volleyball, indoor sports, and recreational excursions. They'll explore topics like game rules, tactics, skill development, and how to support participation in sport. Students also learn to lead and teach others, as shown in their planning and delivery of Traditional Indigenous Games and will complete a personal project that focuses on a capability of their choice.
It is recommended that students successfully complete at least 1 semester of Stage 1 Physical Education if they wish to enroll in Stage 2 IL Sport.
