Course Overview
Stage 2 Workplace Practices is designed to help students prepare for their future beyond school—whether that be entering the workforce, pursuing further training, or continuing into higher education. It gives students practical, hands-on experience and helps them develop the skills employers are looking for. This subject is perfect for young people who are thinking about apprenticeships, traineeships, TAFE, university, or starting work straight away. Students explore real-world jobs and gain a better understanding of what it's like to work in different industries.
In this subject, students learn how to find and apply for jobs, understand workplace rights and responsibilities, and explore how work is changing due to things like technology. They gain real experience in a workplace or workrelated setting and build a portfolio showing what they’ve done and learned. Along the way, they develop vital skills like teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and time management.
