Course Overview
Stage 1 Digital Arts is a subject that caters to students who are interested in pursuing a pathway involving Media Arts, Design and Visual Communication. This subject develops students’ skills both theoretical and practical. This pathway will help prepare students for tertiary education and career opportunities in Digital Arts and Design.
In Digital Arts, students develop skills and knowledge with industry standard software Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, creating digital works for a range of output systems including digital printing, 3D printing and laser printing. Areas of focus include developing digital drawing and design skills, creative thinking process, and visual communication. By studying historical and contemporary artists and designers, investigating themes and genres, in both their Visual Study and Folio, students will develop a deeper understanding of personal, local, global, social and political perspectives. Students develop a range of transferable skills in the arts such as creative and critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills.
