Course Overview
Stage 1 Digital Technologies is a subject designed to cater to students who have an interest in pursuing a pathway involving computer programming and technology. This pathway will help prepare students for degrees in Information Technology, Game Design and Computer Science or a career in software development.
In Digital Technology students will develop a range of skills and subject knowledge. Areas of focus include programming, computational thinking, innovation and data analytics. With the support of their teacher, students will engage in project-based learning to independently develop their skills at their own pace. In addition, students will also develop highly transferable skills such as problem-solving, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration.
It is recommended that students successfully complete at least 1 semester of Stage 1 Digital Technologies if they wish to enroll in Stage 2 Digital Technologies.
