Course Overview
Stage 1 Drama prepares students for a variety of paths by enhancing their creativity, communication, and teamwork abilities. Through exploring shared human experiences, Drama encourages selfconfidence and ethical understanding.
Students will gain a range of skills and knowledge that are essential for both artistic expression and real-world success. Drama encourages critical thinking and helps students build empathy as they engage with stories and characters. They will learn to create original narratives, explore new viewpoints, and develop their creative and artistic voices.
In practical, hands-on lessons, students adopt roles from both theatre and screen, applying the dramatic process to bring their ideas to life. By taking creative risks, they will express unique voices of individuals, communities, and cultures. Drama fosters confidence in communication, whether through live performances, multimedia projects, or written works. Through collaboration and artistic exploration, students will develop the ability to work creatively in diverse group settings.
It is recommended that students successfully complete at least 1 semester of Stage 1 Drama if they wish to enrol in Stage 2 Drama.
