Course Overview
This subject is the most academically rigorous and challenging English pathway. It is suitable for students who are avid readers and prepared to invest time and effort into independent study at home.
This subject will teach students how to carefully analyse the literary and stylistic features of different text types including poetry. Students will also learn how to apply critical perspectives such as Feminism, Marxism and Psychoanalytic to shared texts.
It is recommended that students successfully complete both semesters of Pre Essential English before moving into Stage 1 Essential English in Year 11.
