Course Description
Visual Art is a traditional art subject and is best suited to students who are interested in building skills in drawing, painting, printmaking and theory.
Students that also wish to study fine arts further or at university, develop transferable skills and knowledge.
Students learn practical skills and techniques, and learn to use a wide range of mediums.
For example, acrylic paints, oils paints, pastels, graphite, charcoal, screen-printing, etching and lino. Students explore the ideas and styles of artists and art movements.
Students are introduced to the processes involved in creating and making artworks and have the opportunity to create self-directed practical works using these skills.
Students also develop visual literacy skills, critical thinking and writing skills.
