Course Overview

Essential Mathematics caters to students who are on an NTCET or ATAR pathway but who do not need or are not interested in further mathematical study.


This course has a strong emphasis on mathematics that may be required in everyday life or in trade, and covers measurement and geometry, scale diagrams, investment and loans, business applications, and statistics. The course follows the SACE Stage 2 Essential Mathematics Subject Outline.


It is expected that students have passed both Semesters of Stage 1 Essential Mathematics or equivalent before enrolling in this course.
