Course Overview
Students explore and analyse the interactions of people, societies, cultures and environments. They learn how social, political, historical, environmental, economic and cultural factors affect different societies; and how people function and communicate in and across cultural groups.
Through their study of Society and Culture, students develop the ability to influence their own futures, by developing skills, values and understandings that enable effective participation in contemporary society.
Stage 2 Society and Culture challenges students to develop strong critical thinking skills, prompting them to explore and assess complex issues through a variety of cultural perspectives. The course teaches students to gather and interpret evidence, form convincing arguments, and effectively champion the causes they care about.

Students will study technological revolutions, bioethics, gender and power, practical ethics, and environmental and social movements. The Investigation allows students to research a social or cultural topic of their choice.
